Educational Qualification: The candidates must have passed Matriculation or 10th Class Examination from a recognized Board/ University.

Age Limit: Candidates age should be between 18 years to 25 years as on 1st January 2023. Candidate should be born between 2nd January 1998 to 1st January 2005 (both dates inclusive). However, after relaxation of three (03) years in upper age, the candidate should not have been born earlier than 02-01-1996.

Steps to Apply Online for SSC MTS Recruitment 2023

Interested and eligible candidates may apply online for these vacancies through online mode by visiting the official SSC Portal. Candidates have to follow below-mentioned steps to apply for SSC MTS recruitment 2023.

Step 1:  Scroll Up and Click on the Online Application Link in the Important Link section.
Step 2:  The Official page of SSC will open up in the new window. Click on New User? Register Now.
Step 3:  To complete the Registration process of the SSC Portal, candidates have to provide basic details like name, parent’s name, date of birth, email id, mobile number, etc.
Step 4: Click on the I Agree checkbox to declare that the information given by you in this form is true, complete, and correct. After verifying all the details click on the Final Submit button to complete your Registration process.
Note: It is advised that candidates verify their details before submitting the form. and note the unique Registration ID Provided by SSC Portal for future use purposes.
Step 5:  After registration, log in with your ID using the OTP provided through Email.
Step 6: After Login, Set Your New Password.
Step 7: Click on Apply button of SSC MTS Recruitment 2023.
Step 8: In the next step, the Candidate Have to Fill other Details like the Preference of Examination Centres, Preference of posts, Details of Qualifying Educational Qualification, and required to upload photographs and signatures by following the requisites mentioned by the Staff Selection Commission of India.
Photograph The photograph of a candidate must be clicked in front of white color or light-colored background. The size of the photograph must be more than 20 kb and less than 50 kb in size. The resolution of the photograph must be 3.5*4.5 cm in width and height. and mention the date of photography taken on the photograph.
Note : The photograph of the candidate should not be more than three months old from the date of publication of notice of the examination. The Photograph should be without cap and spectacles. The frontal view of the face should be clearly visible.
Signature The signature provided by the candidate must be in black or blue ink on the white sheet. The scanned copy of the signature that needs to be submitted must be in jpg format and it should be more than 10 kb and less than 20 kb in size. The resolution of the image should be 4.0*2.0 cm in width and height.
Step 9: After filling out the application form, candidates must preview the entire application, because the application form once submitted cannot be edited again.
Step 10: Now, you have to pay the examination fee. After successful payment, your application will be submitted.
Step 11: Also, you will receive an acknowledgment copy of your submission. Keep that acknowledgment copy for future use.

Computer Based Test (CBT)

Candidates who will submit their applications for SSC MTS Recruitment will have to appear in Computer Based Test (CBT). The computer-based examination will consist of 2(Two) objective type of paper with the following composition:

Some Important Points to Know

All questions will be of Objective Multiple Choice Type. The computer based examination will be conducted in English and Hindi only.
There will be no negative marking in Session-I. In Session-II, there will be negative marking of one mark for each wrong answer. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.
The dates of examinations will be informed to candidates only through the website of the Commission.
There shall be no provision for re-evaluation/ re-checking of the scores. No correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.
Marks scored by candidates in the Computer Based Examination will be normalized by using the formula published by the Commission through Notice No: 1-1/2018-P&P-I dated 07-02-2019 and such normalized scores along with the bonus marks for NCC Certificate holders will be used to determine final merit and cut-off marks.
Tentative Answer Keys of the Computer Based Examination will be placed on the website of the Commission after the Examination. Candidates may go through the Answer Keys and submit online representations, if any, within the stipulated time limit on payment of Rs 100/- per question.
Representations received through any other mode e.g. letter, application, email, etc. will not be entertained. Representations regarding the Answer Keys will be scrutinized before finalizing the Answer Keys and the decision of the Commission in this regard will be final.
The questions in the Computer Based Examination will be of Page 13 of 55 Matriculation level.
Walk-through video/ Mock Test on the Computer Based Examination has been provided on the website of the Commission in the ‘Candidate’s Corner’ Section.
Candidates are not permitted to use calculators and other electronic gadgets. They should not, therefore, bring the same inside the Examination Hall/ Lab.

Syllabus for SSC MTS Recruitment 2023

Numerical and Mathematical AbilityIt will include questions on problems relating to Integers and Whole Numbers, LCM and HCF, Decimals and Fractions, Relationship between numbers, Fundamental Arithmetic Operations and BODMAS, Percentage, Ratio and Proportions, Work and Time, Direct and inverse Proportions, Averages, Simple Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Area and Perimeter of Basic Geometric Figures, Distance and Time, Lines and Angles, Interpretation of simple Graphs and Data, Square and Square roots etc.
Reasoning Ability and Problem SolvingThe questions in this part intend to measure the candidates’ general learning ability. The questions will be broadly based on Alpha-Numeric Series, Coding and Decoding, Analogy, Following Directions, Similarities
and Differences, Jumbling, Problem Solving and Analysis, Non verbal Reasoning based on diagrams, age Calculations, Calendar and Clock, etc.
General Awareness:The broad coverage of the test will be on Social Studies (History, Geography, Art and Culture, Civics, Economics), General Science and Environmental studies up to 10th Standard.
English Language and Comprehension:Candidates’ understanding of the basics of English Language, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, etc. and to test comprehension, a simple paragraph may be given and question based on the paragraph to be asked.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

In Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST), applicants have to complete various physical activities within a specific time limit. Based on the performance in Computer Based Test (CBT), candidates will be shortlisted for PET/ PST by the Commission. Ex-servicemen candidates are exempted from PET. and other Candidates have to clear the race within the following time limits:

1600 meters in 15 minutes.1 Km in 20 minutes

Physical Standard Test (PST):

The PST shall include measurement of height, weight & Chest (as applicable). Physical Standards for the posts are as follows:


  • Male: 157.5 cms
  • Female: 152 cms

Height Relaxation: Few categories of candidates are allowed relaxation in heights mentioned above. Relaxed standard of height for such candidates are as follows:

Chest: Only Male candidates should have following standards of chest measurement. Chest measurement for female candidates will not be taken. However, it will be ascertained that the chest is well developed.

Weight: Only Female candidates should have following standards of Weight measurement. Weight measurement for male candidates will not be taken.

  • 48 kg (relaxable by 2 Kg in the case of Garhwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas and members of Schedule Tribes)
